Leading Japanese fitness center GUNZE SPORTS JAPAN flies in Olympic gold medalist Rie Kaneto for two exclusive swimming classes
Phnom Penh, October 17: If you’re planning on becoming a world-class swimmer, or just looking to pick up tips to become a better one, there’s no reason to miss GUNZE SPORTS JAPAN’s exclusive lesson with Olympic gold medalist and current Asian 200m breaststroke record-holder Rie Kaneto.
The 29-year-old Japanese swimmer, who struck gold in the 200m breaststroke at Rio de Janeiro in 2016 and silver in the 2014 World Championship in Doha, will conduct two exclusive lessons on November 28 at the leading fitness center’s AEON Mall Sen Sok City branch.
Ms. Kaneto is the current Asian and Japanese record holder for the 200m breaststroke, which she set at the Japanese Championships in 2016. She is also the third Japanese woman to win Olympic gold in the same discipline. Open to GUNZE SPORTS JAPAN members and non-members (adults and children aged six and above), Ms. Kaneto will share expert advice, instruction and modules, take part in a Q&A session and be available for group photos.
The first lesson is scheduled from 10.00am to 11.30am while the second is from1.30pm to 3.00pm on October 28. Registration is open from October 17, with each lesson limited to 40 participants. Each participant, however, is only allowed to register for a single lesson.
“Cambodia will host the SEA Games for the first time in 2023, and we’ve flown in Ms. Kaneto to offer expert instruction to those looking to be part of the Kingdom’s swim team or just wanting to become better swimmers,” said Takeshi Okuyama, the president of GUNZE SPORTS (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD.
“One of the best ways to swim like a champion is to learn from one, and Ms. Kaneto is truly a champion,” he continued. “She is not only an Olympic gold medalist, but has also won medals at two World University Games and at the Pan Pacific Championships to prove her mettle as among the best women swimmers in Asia.”
